ONNARA/ONNARAMUNDU/THAAR is the traditional lingerie of Malayali women.ONNARA is 1.5 ie one and a half long MUNDU;one mundu is 4 muzham long;whereas ONNARAMUNDU is 6 muzham long and of shorter width than that of mundu(mundu is of 3 muzham width;onnaramundu is of 2/2.5 muzham width) Onnaramundu is worn by women as an undercloth in place of the modern panties or shuddy beneath their nundu or underskirt.

Nadodi sir, your view is absolutely correct!ONNARA is the most sexy undie of malayali women;drawers or knickers or shuddy is of no such sex appeal.Though it is desired by many male counterparts, modern girls are reluctant to wear it now.I am a working woman still passionately ties onnara as undie for safety and to control my sexual urges as a tightly worn onnara presses the clitoris area to a great extent resulting to reduce KAMAVIKARA.To my hus it is an erotic lingerie;and many middle aged working women do wear onnara without bringing it to the notice of others(ie in a very secret manner)As nadodi mentioned it is not popular among modern girls.Shall we attempt to popularise ONNARA?

Madam, as a male but an Onnara lover, I think it is a very good idea to start a blog to promote the Onnara Mundu. Only a lady like you with experience of the Onnara can promote it and make it popular again. I congratulate you for taking the initiative.

I know the Onnara was worn by all the women about 30 years ago. It suddenly stopped. I wonder if some scenes in Malayalam movies of those days showing women standing in their Onnara was responsible for the reaction againstt his inner wear item. Or may be a feeling that it is not fashionable or comfortable. The same thing happened to the kaupinam or Konakam even earlir and the result is that very practical, scientific and graceful and safe items like this have faded completely.

I know from some old ladies that the Onnara is very safe, scientific in the way it is tied up and graceful and practical. I hope you create awareness and interest in this garment and make people take to it again because fashion has nothing to do with it and it is elegant any way.

But why only one post? Please post your ownexperiences, how you felt the first time, why you prefer it, is it sensual, is it practical etc and also the reactions of other women and men (some men may also have sensed you wear it) to the Onnara. Also some diagrams on how to wear it as young people will need guidance. nd please post frquently. Then more visitors will see the blog and you can begin to work for your objective. Wish you all the best in this idea. Nonstitched.
